It’s been a busy couple of days.
We’ve had landscapers out to look at replacing the retaining wall in the backyard. That job will set us back $5-7K.
I met David Allen of GTD fame in the elevator at work yesterday. I have all his books, and use his techniques to keep my head above water while trying to balance two jobs, housework, kids, and everything else.
But being organized didn’t keep from walking onto the wrong bus last night and taking a ride. I followed someone who usually rides my bus onto another bus. At least I knew where I was and where I could get off to meet up with John.
We were at the St. Paul school board meeting last night, and Sarah made a statement to the board. They were looking to eliminate the band program. Just before last night’s meeting there was a change in plans — move band after school. Sarah spoke against that change, and to keep band during the school day. Well, band will be after school starting next year. I’m proud of Sarah for speaking her piece in front of the school board. And we will hope like heck that band does not conflict with gymnastics.
That’s enough excitement.
The dogs continue to form and mold into a pack. We celebrated Sydney’s 12th birthday on Thursday and Macalester’s first birthday on Friday. Laddie will have to wait until July.
Oh, and Rachel’s birthday was Wednesday. She’s eight now. She competed with her sister at gymnastics meet on Saturday in River Falls. Sarah got 6th place on the beam, and her team won 3rd place.
So that’s what we’ve been up to recently. I hope all my readers have a much quieter life!
