Born July 23rd, the only girl in a litter of five puppies — here’s Baby Macalester!
Rachel and I went to see the pups for the first time tonight. Sarah has strep, so I made her stay home with John. We could only stay for a few minutes, as the owners had just gotten home from their lake place. I found out that the pups go with to the lake place, so they’re travelin’ dogs right off the bat! That bodes well.
The pup’s ears are up (way early!) and her nose it starting to grow. She looks more “Scottie” than do her brothers, who look like little bear cubs. Also, she was the smallest at birth, and now is almost as big as the biggest boy. Her eyes just opened up today.
She looked at me, and I fell in love. I sure hope she continues to thrive, grow, and be healthy.
Here’s some photos of the entire litter. If you’re wondering why Macalester is off from the bunch in the initial picture, well that’s where I set her down after holding her.
It took her about 30 seconds to belly-crawl her way over to the main puppy pile shown in the second picture.
She seems very strong and determined too. Sally the groomer may have her hands full, again.
Update: This is also Laddie’s litter photo. I’m glad to have had this photo of both pups from the litter. Carol Anne 8/18/2019
